"When I Saw His Light" is one of my favorite songs on my upcoming album "The Sun of Guidance". Here is the story of how it came about.
I heard one day a couple of verses in Arabic praising Sayyidna Muhammad (pbuh). These two verses were attributed to the poet of the Prophet (s), Sayyidna Hassan bin Thabit (ra). These two verses touched my heart, and reflected upon the eternal beauty of the Prophetic light, and what would happen if Allah would reveal the heavenly beauty of His beloved Prophet (s). The poet tried to describe his first encounter with the light of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). After much reflection, I decided to write a song about such an encounter.
Here are the Arabic verses I based "When I Saw His Light" On:

لما رأيت أنواره سطعت .. وضعت من خيفتي كفي على بصري
خوفاً على بصري من حسن صورته .. فلست أنظره إلا على قدري
روح من النور في جسم من القمر .. كحلية نسجت من الأنجم الزهر
